A psychiatric nurse practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced academic and clinical experience, which enables them to perform physical and psychological assessments, make diagnoses, conduct therapy, and prescribe medications for individuals with psychiatric disorders.
This helps individuals take care of their emotional, psychological, and social well-being, just like physical health, a healthy mind affects how we think, feel, and behave in daily life. The goal of mental health care is to help people feel better, manage challenges, and live fulfilling, balanced lives.
At Lavender Retreat, we now offer mental health services with a psychiatric nurse practitioner. This role combines advanced nursing practice with psychiatric expertise, ensuring accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based mental health care.
What to Expect at Your First Visit
Welcome to Lavender Retreat! We accept insurance. If you are new to mental health care, you may have questions—and we are here to help you feel comfortable and informed before your first appointment.
Your initial session will typically last 60–80 minutes. Our goal is to provide a supportive, welcoming environment where you can focus on your personal health journey.
Your mental and emotional health are closely connected to your overall well-being.
We understand that traditional healthcare experiences can make some people feel like just a transaction. That’s why we take a holistic approach, treating each person as a whole.
At the beginning of your treatment, you will be asked some basic questions so we can establish a strong baseline for your care.
Mental Health

Working through these challenges can be difficult, even when we truly want to feel better. We are here to support you in a safe, compassionate environment.
